2016 Online Reporter Project
May 20 & 21, 2016 at The Hilton Harrisburg
Student interns will cover the Pennsylvania Press Conference and Keystone Press Awards for this comprehensive online operation. Throughout this weekend conference, students will have the chance to work one-on-one with industry professionals to produce a live website, conduct interviews, report on industry issues, cover convention speeches and the awards programs, and have a chance to network with editors from across the state.
Congratulations to the 2016 Online Reporters: Blaine Grisak (Gwyneed-Mercy University) and Michael McCarrick (Penn State Brandywine).
Special thanks to this year’s mentors: Liz Allen (recently retired from the Erie Times-News), Harry Funk (Reporter from Observer-Reporter, Washington), Marta Gouger (Editor, Times News, Lehighton), and Mike Sisak (East Region Social Media Editor, Associated Press).
Students who are interested in reporting, shooting video, taking photographs, designing a website and copy editing should apply. Applications for the 2016 Project were due at the PNA Foundation by January 29, 2016. Check the PNA website in November for details about the 2017 Project.
Questions about the project should be directed to Teresa Shaak, Manager, Foundation Projects, at email@example.com or (717) 703-3003.
